At 44 years of age, Shah Rukh Khan has captured the collective imagination of India more than any other star. With billion admirers across the globe who love SRK and and a series of films that are a testimony to his immense talent, SRK, as he is known, is “King of bollywood” and rightly so. The appreciation Shah Rukh Khan enjoys today is the result of an unceasing search for brilliance and tireless creativity. He has redefined success. An actor like him is just born once a million, and making his mark without having any connection in the world of cinema is a great achievement. How a Rajendra Nagar Delhi boy today rules billion hearts is quite a fascinating and intriguing story!!

Shahrukh Khan after the death of his parents moved to Bombay in 1991 and rest is history. In 1991 itself before any of his film released he married his childhood sweetheart Gauri Chibber. His real life romance with Gauri is also quite talked about. Battling parental rejection due to both being from different religions it is quite a sweet and lovable love story. Their romance was the stuff of a million Bollywood scripts - her family weren’t keen on Khan, but he won them over with charm. They have two children, son Aryan born on 12th november 1997 and daughter Suhana born on 22nd may 2000. As is seen in the documentary on his life “living with a superstar” Shahrukh’s kids are growing with the teachings of both religions. This actor is a living legend for many. With his unconventional looks he proved that to become famous, loved by infinite does not require fair complexion, heavy build up and tallness. What is required is honesty towards work, love for people who appreciate your work, loyal to your friends and family, hard work and patience. He is a loyal husband, dedicated father, trustworthy friend, concerned citizen and a fantastic actor. He is man of many talents. India is proud to have an actor like Shahrukh Khan.
SRK when in Delhi studied acting under Theatre Director Barry John at Delhi’s Theatre Action Group (TAG). In 2007, John commented thus on his former pupil that, “The credit for the phenomenally successful development and management of Shahrukh’s career goes to the superstar himself.” He started with television. He made his acting debut in 1988 with Fauji a television series, playing the role of Commando Abhimanyu Rai. He went on to appear in several other television serials, most remarkably in the 1989 serial, Aziz Mirza’s Circus. Back then nobody would have imagined that Shahrukh Khan will become a phenomenon across the globe.

He made his film debut in Deewana (1992). Since then, he has been part of numerous successful films and has been appreciated for his performances. SRK has won thirteen Filmfare Awards for his work in Indian films, seven of which are in the Best Actor category. He has a list of never ending award list to his credit. SRK’s films such as Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (1995), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Dil Toh Pagal Hain, Chak De India (2007), Om Shanti Om (2007) and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008), Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001), Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003), Veer-Zaara (2004), Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006) and My Name Is Khan (2010) have been top-grossing Indian films. DDLJ is the longest running Indian film ever. Since 2000, Khan branched out into film production and television presenting as well. He is the founder/owner of Red Chillies Entertainment. SRK is today considered to be the world’s most successful movie star, with a fan following numbering in the billions and a net worth estimated at over Rs 2500 crore (US$ 540 million). (source: wikipedia). Shahrukh Khan is a sports enthusiast with soccer being his favorite sport and now he is proud owner of Kolkata Knight Riders.

Shahrukh Khan is perhaps the Indian icon with most biographies in credit to his life. Nasreen Kabir’s The Inner and Outer World of Shah Rukh Khan, Still Reading Khan, which details his family life, was released in 2006. Another book by Anupama Chopra, “King of Bollywood”. Shahrukh Khan and the seductive world of Indian cinema”, was released in 2007. Khan has been bestowed with several honors which includes the Padma Shri. A life-size wax statue of SRK was installed at the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, London. He became the second Indian after Mahatma Gandhi whose statue was installed at the Musée Grévin in Paris. During the same year, he was accorded the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Order of the Arts and Literature) award by the French government for his “exceptional career”. In October 2008, Khan was conferred the Darjah Mulia Seri Melaka which carries the honorific Datuk (in similar fashion to “Sir” in British knighthood), by the head of state of Malacca in Malaysia. He was also honored with an honorary doctorate in arts and culture from Britain’s University of Bedfordshire in 2009.
Shahrukh Khan the name itself dashes down so many thoughts on ones mind. The epitome, charisma and chivalrous human being that SRK is makes him soar higher and reach new heights every moment. His films are a benchmark for India. He is worshipped not only in India but across the globe. With Newsweek naming him among top 50 most powerful men in the world. It clearly reflects the success that Shahrukh Khan is. Time magazine had declared him as bigger than Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt put together and as world’s biggest movie star. His being at Berlin film festivals halts the road traffic in Germany. How big a draw is SRK? More people around the world watch Shah Rukh Khan than Meryl Streep or Brad Pitt. Maybe Meryl Streep and Brad Pitt. His film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, made in 1995, is still playing in one Mumbai cinema. “In India, the films are not looked upon just as entertainment,” Khan says. “They’re a way of life.” And Shahrukh Khan is oxygen for Indian Films. This year when MNIK premiered in Berlin, there was a massive response to the film. Its online tickets were sold out in five seconds on e-Bay for 1000 euros each. Fans had not slept all night to keep their places in the queue despite freezing temperature. Those who arrived late were in tears. The Berlin Film Festival director has said he’s never seen anything like it. “The Hollywood or German masculine hero is very one dimensional but SRK is different. He’s the new global Indian hero who is also the ambassador of Indian culture and Indian cinema,” says Elke Mader, Professor, University of Vienna. He is undoubtedly the most loved star across the globe. The madness witnessed in SRK’s world concert is stupendous. People from all age groups love him. His fans range from a 2 year old to 85 year old. Friend and director Karan Johar once said “Forget the top 10. He’s one-to-50 by himself.” Musthaq sheikh once said “Shah Rukh is everyone’s perfect brother, son, lover and husband”. His ability to connect with people is unbelievable. He is always bursting with energy. The crowd which gathers outside Mannat (his bunglow) is huge. Fans from across the globe come all the way to Mumbai to wish the star on his birthday. His birthday is quite an event. Shahrukh Khan was born special. His charisma is unmatchable. He is one of the good things that has happened to India in the last 20 years. He has helped Indian cinema reach across countries which are not even familiar with our language.

Shahrukh Khan is a brand himself. He has the highest number of celebrity brand endorsements to his credit. Every product wants to have him as their face. He is an actor with largest number of brands ranging from Tag Huer to Nokia to Hundyai to dish tv to Videocon to ICICI bank to name a few. His long association with these brands prove that he is the most bankable star whether its films or ad world. Its Shahrukh Khan all the way. His popularity is quite visible in the most happening social networking site twitter where people from all over the globe wait when will Shahrukh be online??
“I don’t want to have a normal life,” SRK says. “I don’t like wearing dark glasses. I’m happy with the fact that people know me. I want people to scream and shout at me, I want people to trouble me when I’m having lunch, I like six bodyguards around me. I love being a star.” Well Shahrukh your fans will make sure of this wish of yours!! He deserves all the love and success in life. SRK’s mantra of TINA there is no alternative to hardwork is the reason he never fails to surprise us. “In my heart and my mind, I get up in the morning thinking there is nobody making a better film than I do. I say that to myself because I have to work that much harder.” SRK says. As fans eagerly await Shahrukh Khan’s next release “Ra.one”, Shahrukh is working hard to surprise us with yet another beautiful and khantastic film. In one line Shahrukh Khan is India’s entertainer in chief. A brand in himself and the most hardworking human being (that’s what he likes to be known as) and a person whom you can love unconditionally, yes that is SHAHRUKH KHAN for all of us

hindi poetry

1.
Ik baat honton tak hai jo aayi nahin
Bas ankhon say hai jhaankti
Tumse kabhi, mujhse kabhi
Kuch lafz hain woh maangti
Jinko pehanke honton tak aa jaaye woh
…Aawaaz ki baahon mein baahein daalke ithlaye woh
Lekin jo yeh ik baat hai
Ahsas hi ahsas hai
Khushboo si hai jaise hawa mein tairti
Khushboo jo be-aawaaz hai
Jiska pata tumko bhi hai
Jiski khabar mujhko bhi hai
Duniya se bhi chupta nahin
Yeh jaane kaisa raaz hai
2.
Jab jab dard ka baadal chaya
Jab ghum ka saya lehraya
Jab aansoo palkon tak aya
Jab yeh tanha dil ghabraya
Humne dil ko yeh samjhaya
…Dil aakhir tu kyun rota hai
Duniya mein yunhi hota hai
Yeh jo gehre sannate hain
Waqt ne sabko hi baante hain
Thoda ghum hai sabka qissa
Thodi dhoop hai sabka hissa
Aankh teri bekaar hi nam hai
Har pal ek naya mausam hai
Kyun tu aise pal khota hai
Dil aakhir tu kyun rota hai
3.
Dilon mein tum apni
Betaabiyan leke chal rahe ho
Toh zinda ho tum
Nazar mein khwabon ki
Bijliyan leke chal rahe ho
Toh zinda ho tum
Hawa ke jhokon ke jaise
Aazad rehno sikho
Tum ek dariya ke jaise
Lehron mein behna sikho
Har ek lamhe se tum milo
Khole apni bhaayein
Har ek pal ek naya samha
Dekhen yeh nigahaein
Jo apni aankhon mein
Hairaniyan leke chal rahe ho
Toh zinda ho tum
Dilon mein tum apni
Betaabiyan leke chal rahe ho
Toh zinda ho tum
4.
Pighlay neelam sa behta hua yeh samaan
Neeli neeli si khamoshiyaan
Na kahin hai zameen
Na kahin aasmaan
Sarsaraati huyi tehniyaan, pattiyaan
Keh rahi hain ki bas ek tum ho yahaan
Sirf main hoon meri saansein hain aur meri dhadkanein
Aisi gehraiyaan
Aisi tanhaiyaan
Aur main sirf main
Apne honay pe mujhko yaqeen aa gaya

Shael Did It Again....

Love is a beautiful feeling. Some thing that is a divine gift for a person and is priceless more than anything else that one can get. Because we can buy achieve anything by our hard work, buy anything if we have money but we can't buy a loving heart, we can't make some one love us unconditionally by doing any sort of hard work. We can just wish that whom we love, he/she would love us too but we can't ( and we shouldn't too) force him/her to love us. Love is not asking, it is just giving without expecting. But a few expectations are there. It hurts when you wait for someone's call to come and despite being free when the person doesn't call you,it hurts. It hurts so much to stay awake the entire night waiting for a message to come but it never comes. It hurts when you want to wish that person best of luck for something but the other person never cares to look for your calls. It hurts so much when you got hurt by that very person only whom you had loved more than yourself, more than any other thing! It hurts beyond what words are capable to describe. The pain of those eyes who look at you like a joke is not bearable. No one else can understand that pain except the person who have heard those jokes, those insults by his/her friends/close ones. Despite that you have not done anything bad, still your eyes are down and you listen all that, bear all that insult just because that doesn't any difference when that person whom you loved , for whom you tried to do everything have left you in this big world alone. It really hurts!
Some times, some thing that is there with you inside your heart, some thing that you have experienced yourself but which is not describable in words, that only is revealed by a song. Not all the songs do justice to that feeling of pain and the videos of the songs are some times much worse than the song even. But some songs do stand apart from that crowd and leave a mark in your heart. Those are very  few in number but its always better to have quality than quantity right?
Shael Oswal is one singer whose songs I have not liked much in the past. But he sang one song called Hiriye which forced me to change my opinion about his singing and his songs. That song was so close to describe the pain of a broken heart that I wrote few lines over my blog too. Shael has released another album Sun Le Ye Jahan in this year 2008. Once again, he has sung a song Jindhari(meaning life) in it which he has expressed the feelings of a broken heart so truly and deeply. And this time, the video is of as much the same quality as like of song. A guy who has lost his self and has gone insane because of the pain given to him by no one else but his love. What else could be more painful to see that even after all what happened, he still longs for his love to come and see him!
You can watch this song on YouTube here,
http://youtu.be/aCKFTfjZ1Ww

The song's lyrics are in Hindi and also there are few dialogues which are there in the video. I shall explain the meanings of these dialogues and the song in English in a while. Here are the dialogues and lyrics in Hindi:

Shael asking  ward boy: Simran ayegi naa aaj!
Ward boy: Haan haan ayegi.
A while later, Shael is standing with the group of doctors:
Shael asking doctor : Simran ayegi naa aaj!
Male doctor to the lady doctor: Tum mental disorder par research kar rahi ho naa.Is se achha case tumhen nahin milega. Pyar mein dhokha khane ke baad insan ki kya haalat ho jati hai, see!
And here are the song's lyrics :
Sooni sonni tere bin jindari sohinye!(repeat)
Sooni sonni tere bin jindari sohinye!(repeat)
Lagda nai,dil eh kahin!
Mar javange kar le yakin!
Rabba mainu yaar mera chahida!
Sooni sonni tere bin jindari,sohinye!(repeat)

Kitti main bhull ki,eh saja mili hai kyun!
Gal sari dass mainu khul ke!
Door kyun hoi in , lai ke sare sapne tun!
Jeevan main kiven in tainu bhull ke!
Oh rutt hasin, yaad aandi e, pal pal meri jaan jandi e!
Rabba mainu yaar mera chahida!
Sooni sonni tere bin jindari,sohinye!(repeat)

Phull ban jo khushi seene vich khilidi c,
Hun dil vich mere chubhadi e!
Lag gayi kisdi eh sade pyar nu najar,
Ajj mere utte dunia hasdi e!
Ki ho gaya , Jind meriye!
Kyon ho gayi, tun variye!
Rabba mainu yaar mera chahida!
Sooni sonni tere bin jindari,sohinye!(repeat)

And here is the meaning of the dialogues and lyrics in English:
Shael asking ward boy : Simran would come naa today!
Ward boy : Yeah yeah she will.
A while later, Shael is standing with the group of doctors:
Shael asking doctor : Simran would come naa today!
Male doctor to the lady doctor: You are doing your research on mental disorder right? You won't find any case better than this for your research. After getting backstabed in love, what can happen to someone see!
And here are the lyrics in English:
My life is empty without you sweetheart!(repeat)
My life is empty without you sweetheart!(repeat)
I don't find peace anywhere,
I shall die without you, please believe me!
God I need my love with me!
My life is empty without you sweetheart!(repeat)

Which crime I did, why I got this punishment!
Tell me everything in detail!
Why did you go far away, taking away all my dreams, happiness with you!
How can I live now forgetting you!
Those happy times, I remember now too,
And with those memories, every moment I am dieing!
God I need my love with me!
My life is empty without you sweetheart!(repeat)

That happiness which was like a flower inside me,
Now it hurts like a thorn in my heart!
God only knows who cursed our love,
But this entire world laughs at me today!
What happened my love,
Why did you only become my enemy!
God I need my love with me!
My life is empty without you sweetheart!(repeat)
My life is empty without you sweetheart!(repeat)

I have no words with me to explain anything further than what is already said in the song. There is nothing more that I can add to it. Just will conclude by  saying this only that  don't hurt that heart who loves you. Love relations are not so easy to maintain. It takes a lot to be into love. Its much more than  red roses or chocolates on Valentine's day. It demands everything from you, whatever is yours then too gives no assurance that you will get a few smiles but still its the most beautiful feeling and love relations need to be taken care like a child which we can let grow and become more and more intelligent but we can't afford to let go him crazy and spoiled. There wont be ever any words to explain pain ever coz that's what this feeling is about,.only that person can understand it, feel it who have it inside him. Saying sorry is not enough to ease that pain. These are the lines from Punjabi poetry,
uhde zakkam na hashar tak hon raazi....
jinna laggian prem katarian ve....
And it means that that person's wounds wont get healed till eternity too who is wounded by love. So don't hurt that person whom you love, who loves you, don't argue with that person whom you say I love you, don't find faults in that person whom you can't live without. You never know by doing this, you are just walking on the path of losing him/her for forever and may be you will never get him back again. It doesn't matter whose fault it may be, remember there will be one life in the end who would never be the same again as it was. Don't give tears to someone who smiles with your smiles, cries with your tears. You never know, you won't ever get that person again and that may be the only man/woman who was meant for you. You may not find like that person ever again in your life. In the video at the end, a line is displayed, love hurts, too much. Unfortunately some unlucky souls do experience that line so deeply and courtesy of no one else but their own love. Don't know why?
